New York Health (NYHealth) is proud to announce the addition of one of Riverhead’s highest-rated family physicians, Dr. Vishnudat Seodat. To celebrate the opening of his new locations, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Thursday, June 25, 2020, at 6144 Route 25 A, Suite #19, Wading River, NY 11792.
Dr. Seodat is board certified in family medicine and is excited to be a part of NY Health’s commitment to the highest quality of comprehensive care. His passion for medicine represents an opportunity to bring NY Health’s inherent patient-centric focus to a new level by offering “medicine with a difference.” His expert approach to care encompasses the whole mind and body.
“As a child, I developed pneumonia which led to a house call from my family physician. The physician did not accept payment from my family for the appointment due to my less fortunate financial living conditions at the time,” Dr. Seodat said. Inspired by the physician’s compassion, Dr. Seodat navigated his life so that he could become a doctor for everyone. “My journey began as a nurse and a pharmacist dispenser before traveling to New York to earn my degree in medicine.”
Dr. Seodat received a Bachelor of Science with a Minor in Healthcare Administration at St. Joseph’s College. He attended La Universidad Tecnológica De Santiago where he received his Doctor of Medicine. Following his MD, he completed his residency and served as Chief Resident at Southside Hospital. He continued at Southside as Assistant Director of their residency program where he educated residents while maintaining patient care and completing medical procedures.
Working alongside him for the past two years is Adult-Geri Nurse Practitioner, Catrina Grefe, MS, RN-BC, AGNP-C. As a Nurse Practitioner, Catrina manages the patient’s overall care, prescribing medications and treatments, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, and treating both acute and chronic conditions. Catrina assists in performing procedures and educating patients on positive health-promoting lifestyle choices and disease, injury, and illness prevention. Catrina is excited to be joining NY Health with Dr. Seodat. “Patients can feel confident with me as their practitioner, and I am eager to deliver high-quality care to patients on the East End,” she said.
