Girl Scouts of Nassau County (GSNC) recently received a generous $17,000 grant from United Way of Long Island. The funding will help to bring additional girl-led, cooperative and hands-on programs to the Girl Scout organization.
“We are honored to receive a grant from United Way of Long Island,” said Rande Bynum, Chief Executive Officer, Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “These funds will help us to further ensure that every girl in Nassau County who wants to have the opportunity to participate in Girl Scouts has the resources to provide more programs that help positively impact the organization itself and girls who live in Nassau County.”
United Way of Long Island is an organization that fights for health, education and stability for every person in every community. The organization approaches this by recruiting individuals and other organizations with a mission and passion to bring change. United Way of Long Island is part of a worldwide network spanning across 41 countries and territories, including more than 1,200 local organizations in the U.S. The organization’s partners and volunteers work tirelessly to discuss issues, raise funds and develop programs for the better of every community.
